so here is my spiritual creation for today...nice little twist on the well known "choose the right." hopefully its not bad that i replace the words...no big deal. I am the only one who reads these things anyways.
So with the CTR shield sign i used the fresco tool in illustrator...probably can't tell when its this small but i think it looks neat!

my possible new logo
so today's blog has a double purpose...i learned a little more about doing textures in illustrator AND i happened to come upon a logo that i like quite a lot...who knows how i will feel about it tomorrow though...maybe i will have something new by then. not sure if green goes with me but pink just doesn't seem to fit the logo. maybe blue?
if you are interested in learning more about textures in illustrator...go to this tutorial...there are probably better ones out there but this is the one i found:

Funky 3D Springs
So I learned how to do something new today off smashing pumpkin-springs...here is the goal: 1 new illustrator tutorial per day...i will put my version on here with a link to the tutorial for anyone else who has an inkling to learn.
So here are my springs
The link to this tutorial is: http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tools-tips/how-to-create-funky-3d-springs-in-illustrator/
So the only thing with this is it only shows you how to make the red one on the left...then you need to start experimenting with setting your own degrees in the 3D Revolve tool. The husband likes the springs...oh those mechanical engineers...wonder what I will learn tomorrow...

IntelliSort
So my husband is working on a materials sorter for his mechanical engineering capstone and me being the wonderful, giving, and of course humble wife I am made him a logo. I would really like to learn more about designing logos. Here is what I have learned so far. 1>a square logo is the most readable no matter its size. 2> You don't want to have too much text 3> don't make it too complex.
So here are some of my favorite logos:

Primo Blog Entry
Please welcome me into the wonderful world of blogging. I am only what? Half a decade behind everyone else born after 1985? I wanted to start something to record my blogs and to keep track of my portfolio. Hoping that sharing my designs and my thoughts will be somewhat relaxing or something.
Guess I should start off introducing myself. I'm Ashley. I like ice cream, furry animals, and black and white. My shoe size is a 6 and my favorite fruit are strawberries. What else is there to know? Welcome to the very essence of me. Welcome to the start of my blog-portfolio journey. Is this cheesy or what?
